About the Work
Rooted in Matthew 25:42–45, Jesus reflects on compassion, dignity, and the call to care for the marginalized. Painted using colors inspired by the earth tones and landscape of Nazareth, the work intentionally presents Christ through a human and culturally grounded lens, emphasizing themes of empathy, poverty, justice, and radical love for others.
The blues woven throughout the piece were also influenced by Christ referring to Himself as “living water,” symbolizing renewal, grace, and spiritual sustenance.
